‘From Help to Heroes’ exclusive compilation CDs available free with The Independent and The Independent On Sunday this weekend, featuring three new tracks ahead of release from the next War Child album.
Readers of The Independent and The Independent On Sunday will receive an exclusive War Child CD collection for free with every copy of the newspaper this weekend. The exclusive ‘From Help to Heroes’ compilations will feature a selection of brand new tracks from the upcoming War Child album ‘Heroes’, ahead of its hotly anticipated release on 16 February. Stevie Wonder by Estelle, Joy Division by Hot Chip and The Kinks by The Kooks are just some of the exciting recordings that can be heard on the new CD. Readers will also be able to listen to a selection of 17 past favourites, featuring legendary artists including Blur, Radiohead and Coldplay.
Since 1995, the War Child charity has been giving listeners the chance to hear modern takes on classic tracks, while raising money to improve the lives of children growing up in war zones. As a result, across Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, thousands of former child soldiers, street children and children in prison have received help and support to rebuild their lives. ‘Heroes’, the latest album from War Child, is set for release on 16 February and features 15 classic tracks covered by a new act who has been nominated by the original artist.
