Katy Perry splits from boyfriend

KATY PERRY has split up from her boyfriend Travis McCoy.

The I Kissed A Girl singer, 24, and the Gym Class Heroes frontman, 27, ended their relationship just before the New Year.

A source close to the couple told PEOPLE they had ended their year-long relationship after their holiday in Mexico over Christmas.

They said: "It's a hardship, but she's regrouping."

After more than a year of friendship and casual dating, the pair started a proper relationship right before both hit the road for last summer's Vans Warped tour.

McCoy bought Perry a "promise ring," while he wore a silver band with the word "Katy" on it.

A rep for Perry would not comment on the singer's personal life and McCoy's rep could not be reached.
