KAISER CHIEFS said Blur's decision to reform is "brilliant" - but have mixed feelings about being their support band.
The Leeds group, who count Blur among their musical influences, said they were pleased the original line-up has chosen to play again for the first time in eight years.
Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat, drummer Nick Hodgson said: "It's brilliant - I'm very pleased - normally I hate reunions - this doesn't feel like a reunion."
"I like this because it actually feels like unfinished business and they've actually got something to do it for.
"They've actually reunited as opposed to got back together for a load of cash. This doesn't feel like a reunion like the sort of cash-in ones which I think have been happening."
Earlier this week, Blur announced they would play two dates at London's Hyde Park on July 2nd and 3rd 2009.
But on rumours the Kaiser Chiefs had been tipped to be asked to be their support band, bassist Simon Rix said: "I was in me car and heard it and thought 'We're going to get asked to play that gig - will we do it?'
"I don't know if I want to do it really - it's too much doing what people think you'd be doing and we hate doing that."
But Hodgson disagreed, and added: "I'd like to do it though - it might just be bass-less. But I don't think we'll get asked."
