Hawkins has penis pierced as punishment

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins says he punished himself for cheating on his girlfriend by having his penis pierced.

Hawkins says he likes to torture himself with piercings when he does wrong.

At Christmas he cheated on his manager and long-term lover Sue Whitehouse. So the 28-year-old singer decided to put himself through the piercing operation.

Hawkins said: 'Whenever I have a down I always put a piercing in to mark it. I was miserable when I had my nipple done.'

'And I was even more miserable when I had my cock done. Me and Sue split up. I didn't like myself much. I thought, what's the most painful place to have a piercing?'

Hawkins said he's since had the piercing removed, reports The Sun.
