Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has taken the lead vocals on a track on the reissue of Dennis Wilson’s classic album Pacific Ocean Blue. Hawkins has recorded the vocals for Holy Man, originally an instrumental. Wilson, the Beach Boys hell raising drummer, released the album in 1977 but due to contractual problems it remained largely unavailable for many years.

Wilson’s co-collaborator on the album, Gregg Jakobsen, wanted Hawkins involved in the project believing his voice is similar to the late Beach Boy. Wilson tragically drowned 25 years ago and the double CD package, which includes tracks from his unfinished album Bambu, coincides with the anniversary of his untimely death.
