Queens of the Stone Age are leading the charge for this week's Official UK Number 1 album with their ninth studio release, Perfecth.
Taking inspiration from kintsugi—the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold to celebrate imperfection—the Californian rock titans are currently in prime position to claim their second UK chart-topper following 2017's Villains. The midweek chart success comes alongside live momentum, following the band's recent announcement of a 2027 European tour, with UK live dates expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Challenging the top spot are Scottish indie outfit The Snuts, whose new record Joy In Short Moments opens the week at Number 2. Members Jack, Joe, Callum, and Jordan already boast three Top 5 entries, including their 2021 chart-topping debut W.L., as they aim to overtake the lead before Friday's final standings.
Birmingham rock group Editors start the week at Number 3 with their eighth studio album, Surface, Echo & Sound, tracking toward their highest chart position since 2009's In This Light and on This Evening. Canadian rockers Nickelback hold the Number 4 spot with Everything Under The Sun, pursuing their eighth UK Top 10 album, while Michael Jackson's Thriller surges 18 places toward Number 6 following the Halloween weekend.
Further down the midweek standings, The Who's 1975 classic The Who By Numbers looks set for a Top 10 return at Number 10 following a super deluxe reissue. The Big Moon enter at Number 18 with Forever, aiming for a third consecutive Top 40, while DJ-producer MK at Number 21 with In The Night Again and K-pop group ILLIT at Number 22 with BREAK EVEN eye their debut chart appearances.
UK rapper Nines tracks at Number 29 with his teenage archival mixtape Young Nina, and blink-182's 2001 classic Take Off Your Pants And Jacket re-enters at Number 34 courtesy of a 25th anniversary 2LP vinyl release. Rounding out the midweek Top 40 at Number 40 is Save As, the solo project from Elena Tonra under the name Ex.
