Tom Jones has postponed two concerts after coming down with the flu.

The It's Not Unusual singer announced on Instagram on Monday that he had to reschedule that night's show in Los Angeles as well as Tuesday's gig in San Diego, California because his doctors determined he was too unwell to perform.

"I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu," Jones, 86, wrote on social media hours before the start of his LA show.

"Following doctor's advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show in Los Angeles and tomorrow's show in San Diego."

Jones, who is currently on his Come Gather Round tour in the U.S., noted that the shows have already been rescheduled to next week.

He will now perform at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego on 3 November and The Greek Theatre in LA on 4 November.

Offering his fans an apology, he added, "I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon."

Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled shows. Those who cannot attend the new gigs are advised to contact their original point of purchase for a full refund.

The Delilah hitmaker kicked off his tour on 18 September and will now wrap up the trek with the rescheduled dates. He is next slated to perform in Highland, California on Thursday.

The Welsh singer recently made headlines in September when he claimed that he had been fired from The Voice U.K. before its 2027 series. Jones, who had been an on-off coach since the competition's 2012 debut, was dropped from the line-up and replaced by Cheryl and rapper Aitch.
