Sir Cliff Richard has celebrated his 86th birthday alongside his devoted fans at a special afternoon tea event held at London’s Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane. Hosted by radio legend Ken Bruce, the gathering marked the upcoming release of his 48th studio album, Only Number Ones, with the music icon exclusively sharing a selection of new tracks with those in attendance.
Fans who secured entry by pre-ordering the album were treated to photos with Sir Cliff and enjoyed a classic afternoon tea featuring sandwiches, scones, and bespoke desserts. During the event, Sir Cliff was presented with a birthday cake to celebrate his milestone year. Guests also heard an exclusive preview of My Sweet Lord and his brand-new version of Oh, Pretty Woman—a track originally taken to Number 1 in the UK by Roy Orbison 62 years ago this week, which Sir Cliff officially released on his birthday.
"I am so thrilled to have been able to celebrate my 86th birthday with my fans," said Sir Cliff Richard. "They have always been very special to me and are the reason why I continue to make music and tour. They helped me all of these years to get to number one, and it is great that I am now able to give back with my own versions of number one tracks that I personally love."
Arriving on 27 November 2026 via major streaming platforms and retailers, Only Number Ones sees Sir Cliff put his signature touch on iconic chart-toppers spanning eight decades. Produced by Sam Hollander and Josh Edmondson, the record features covers of tracks originally made famous by The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, The Monkees, Elvis Presley, and Harry Styles, alongside a fresh 2026 rendition of White Christmas.
A Deluxe Edition will also be released, pairing the new recordings with all 14 of Sir Cliff's original UK Number 1 singles—from 1959's Living Doll to festive classics like Mistletoe and Wine—celebrating his legacy as the third best-selling artist in UK singles chart history.
