Sophia Laforteza will return to Katseye in January.

The group's management and label, Hybe and Geffen, announced on Thursday that the 23-year-old singer will re-join her bandmates in the new year, following a five-month break.

"We are happy to share that Sophia will resume group activities with Katseye beginning the first week of January 2027," a statement confirmed.

"Sophia has been prioritising her health and well-being with our full support and resources. While Sophia will not be participating in The Wildworld Tour in North America, or promotional activities for the remainder of this year, we look forward to welcoming her back as Katseye continues this next chapter together in 2027," the statement continued.

In August, Sophia announced she would be temporarily stepping back from performing with the group to prioritise her "mental health and wellness".

On Thursday, Sophia took to social media to share her excitement at reuniting with her bandmates, as she praised Katseye fans - known as Eyekons - for their "patience, grace and understanding".

"It hasn't been easy, but I have been putting in the work by receiving the care I need, learning the tools to better support myself, and doing everything I can to nurture my well-being," she posted on her Instagram Stories.

"My hope is to return feeling happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded, and ready to give you everything I've been wanting to give you. I'm holding onto that so tightly. I can't wait to share the stage with my sisters again and look out to all of you!"

Sophia is not the first member of the group to take a break.

In February, Manon Bannerman announced she was taking a "temporary hiatus" from her Katseye duties to focus on her mental health.

While her bandmates have insisted the door is "always open" for her to come back, Manon is yet to confirm when she will return.

Katseye - also comprising Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj and Yoonchae Jeung - is a group formed through the 2023 talent show Dream Academy.
