Nivea is "very grateful" to be in remission following her battle with leukaemia.

In July, the R&B singer - full name Nivea B. Hamilton - announced she had been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) at the start of the year.

But during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show this week, Nivea shared that she is in remission after undergoing a series of treatments.

"I'm very grateful," she said, appearing emotional.

Nivea went on to explain how she "couldn't believe" the pace of her recovery.

However, the Don't Mess with My Man star emphasised that she is still dealing with some symptoms.

"It's been an adjustment, like the symptoms," the 44-year-old continued. "I'm tired a lot. I have other issues. I'm bleeding. I have fibroids. It's a long little list, but I'm still on the better side than most. I'm not complaining... I'm not complaining at all."

In addition, Nivea thanked Dr. Colin Vale and his team for their care.

"I couldn't believe it because this happened to me this year, only a few months ago," she smiled. "And Dr. Vale, even though explaining to me the success rate of the drug, we still didn't know. We have to monitor, (as) everybody's different, how your body reacts to the medications."

Elsewhere in the conversation, Nivea revealed that she is training to be an audio engineer and is taking vocal lessons amid her recovery.

"I've never had vocal training all these years. Yes. I was, you know, self-taught. And so I said, 'Let me learn some tricks and tools to be better,'" the mother-of-four added.
