Zara Larsson has no desire to collaborate on an album with music producer Max Martin.
During an interview for the Las Culturistas podcast on Wednesday, co-hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang asked the Lush Life hitmaker if she's considered working with her fellow Swede.
In response, Zara noted that a project with Max isn't on the cards.
"I don't think so," she began, emphasising how much she respects the legendary producer. "That is someone to look up to for me... obviously he's the best songwriter in the world and he just keeps getting number ones. But I don't know if that way of working is for me."
The Midnight Sun star went on to explain that she would prefer to collaborate with artists such as MNEK, Margo XS, and Helena Gao again.
"That's where the magic comes from, not to try and look for it in Max Martin," the 28-year-old continued. "I think me and Max could make an amazing song or album, but I know he will affect me in a way which would make me be a little bit smaller. I respect him so much. I know he has these huge songs and has so much knowledge that I would feel like whatever he says goes."
Max is known for his work with pop stars including Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
The 55-year-old has won five Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017.
Elsewhere in the conversation, Zara revealed that she could see herself getting involved in politics in her native Sweden when she is 50.
"Like a singing (Zohran) Mamdani," the Never Forget You singer smiled, referring to the Mayor of New York City. "Someone who is just for the people and who just does good things."
