Two years on from their acclaimed debut, 'We Are Not The Infadels', new album, 'Universe In Reverse' is the band's Youth-produced crossover masterpiece. Bursting with energy, growling guitar melodies and hooks in abundance. It is, in short - the definitive Infadels record. "Free Things For Poor People" is the big crossover track from the album.
Somewhere between playing over 300 gigs (from Europe to China and back again the long way around), the London five-some spent 18 months discovering the sounds that would grow to become a re-imagining of the Infadels sound. With new beats and ideas pumping through their veins, the band (Bnann - vocals/guitar, Matt Gooderson - guitars/programmed keys, Wag Marshall-Page - bass, Richie Vernon - live keys / percussion, Alex Bruford - drums) returned home to write album number two. Inspired and determined singer-songwriter Bnann began crafting new tracks on his acoustic guitar while co-composer Matt added thigh-twitching electronics to the already soaring melodies.
Second single and forthcoming on 16th June is the anthemic, feel-good 'Free Things For Poor People' - which began life as a t-shirt slogan conceived by keyboardist Richie. With a big chance of becoming a summertime chart-topper, it bounds along radiating positivity. Live it's already a firm favourite with its huge sing along melody. It's backed with the raucous 'Godzilla' and 'Like Tomorrow & The Day Before' - both vigorously delivered and feature trademark cloud skimming hooks. The band have also done their own mixes to complete the package. Perfect for their DJ set's. Expect to hear them played out soon.
