Roxy Music have unveiled a previously unreleased guitar and vocal demo of their 1973 hit single 'Pyjamarama'. Unheard for over 50 years, the skeletal recording captures frontman Bryan Ferry developing the song using an acoustic guitar in a remote Derbyshire cottage. Marking the very first time Ferry had written on a guitar, the fragile track features open-tuned chord progressions alongside improvised, scat-sung topline vocals.

Alongside the audio release, fans can now watch the band’s lost March 1973 performance of 'Pyjamarama' on Top of the Pops. Originally wiped from the official BBC archives, the iconic footage was recently unearthed from a private collection belonging to mobile disco DJ Roger Hill.

The rare demo serves as a preview for the newly expanded Super Deluxe Edition of the band's milestone second album, For Your Pleasure, arriving on 6 November 2026 via UMR/Island EMI. Released in March 1973, the album cemented the line-up of Bryan Ferry, Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay, Brian Eno, and Paul Thompson as trailblazing icons of English art rock. It was also the final studio album to feature Eno's synth work.

The upcoming 3CD+DVD Super Deluxe Edition offers an extensive deep dive into the band's creative process during a pivotal era. The box set features early songwriting sketches, AIR Studios outtakes, BBC Peel Sessions, instrumentals, and a DVD packed with rare television appearances from 1972 and 1973, including their Montreux and Old Grey Whistle Test performances. The package is completed by a 116-page hardback book containing unpublished archival photography and exclusive liner notes.

For Your Pleasure will be available in multiple configurations, including a 2LP set, 2CD, digital formats, Dolby ATMOS, Blu-Ray, and a Direct-to-Consumer exclusive Blue Pearl vinyl pressing. Fifty-three years after its original debut, Roxy Music's masterpiece continues to stand as a high-water mark for British popular music, combining avant-garde innovation with irresistible pop hooks. Pre-orders for all physical and digital formats are open now.
