The Ivors Academy has celebrated seven outstanding music creators and industry figures at The Ivors Academy Honours 2026. Held at the InterContinental London Park Lane, the ceremony recognized leaders whose advocacy, innovation, and leadership are shaping a fairer, more inclusive future for songwriters and composers across the global music community.
Rapper and philanthropist Stormzy received an Honour presented by Warner Chappell Music UK MD Shani Gonzales, celebrating his cultural impact and dedication to broadening educational and career pathways for underrepresented communities. Singer-songwriter and producer James Blake was recognized by Ivors Academy CEO Lord Neri and Chair Tom Gray for his fierce advocacy regarding creator remuneration, streaming fairness, and ownership rights.
Glastonbury Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis was presented with her award by Elbow frontman Guy Garvey, honoring her commitment to placing emerging artists on global stages. Broadcaster and DJ Annie Macmanus received her trophy from former co-host Nick Grimshaw, celebrating her 17-year legacy at BBC Radio 1 and her ongoing work with Annie Mac Presents in championing new musical talent.
Acclaimed songwriter and producer MNEK was honored by frequent collaborator Becky Hill for his stellar creative catalogue and his work supporting LGBTQIA+ creators through his annual Proud Sound writing camp. On the executive side, retiring IMRO CEO Victor Finn was recognized for expanding Irish creators' rights over nearly two decades, while Sentric Music CEO Chris Meehan was honored for widening indie publisher access and royalty transparency for songwriters.
The evening featured an exclusive performance by 19-year-old rising singer-songwriter Mulaa Joans, who delivered her hit single "Birthday Makeup." The seven new honourees join legendary artist Elton John, who was awarded an Ivors Academy Honour earlier this year and named the Academy's first-ever President. Continuing the legacy of the Gold Badge Awards established in 1974, the ceremony highlights the vital figures working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect, nurture, and champion human creativity.
