Monsieur Periné have announced they are taking an indefinite hiatus.
The Colombian band shared the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
"We're parting ways. We've spent a long time trying to figure out how to make this decision and, most importantly, how to communicate it to you, who have been there since day one," the announcement started.
"Perhaps this is the most difficult decision we've ever had to make. And we're still trying to process it. Each of us in our own time. Each of us in our own way," the message continued.
"We are going to separate. We don't know for how long. What we do know is that we need this space. An individual space that we believe will do us good and, hopefully, allow us to reconnect in the future from another place, in another mood."
The post included the dates of their final scheduled performances: eight concerts in cities across the U.S. and Latin America, ending on 29 November in Puerto Rico.
The news was confirmed to Billboard by the band's PR company.
"After nearly two decades of music, performances, and a career that has taken them around the world, the band members have decided to part ways for an indefinite period to take individual space," the agency noted.
Monsieur Periné, led by vocalist Catalina García and multi-instrumentalist Santiago Prieto, formed in Bogotá in 2007. Their album Caja de Música won them the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist in 2015.
Bolero Apocalíptico won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2023.
Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz, released in April this year, is nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Pop Album.
The 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place on 12 November at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
