Filipino-British singer-songwriter beabadoobee is on course to secure her second consecutive UK Number 1 album with her fourth studio LP, Pylon.
According to the latest Official Albums Chart update, Pylon leads the midweek standings. The release looks set to follow 2024’s This Is How Tomorrow Moves to the top spot, marking her fourth overall Top 10 album alongside Fake It Flowers (2020) and Beatopia (2022).
Queen drummer Roger Taylor occupies the Number 2 spot with Violence Insane In A Beautiful World. If it maintains its position, the record will become Taylor’s highest-charting solo album to date, surpassing 2021’s Outsider, which peaked at Number 3.
David Bowie’s The Shel Talmy Recordings enters the chart at Number 3. The compilation, which highlights the late icon’s 1965 work alongside producer Shel Talmy, is on track to earn Bowie his 37th Top 10 record on the Official Albums Chart.
Beck sits at Number 4 with Ride Lonesome, positioning the Californian artist to match his career-best UK chart performance set 12 years ago by Morning Phase. Closing out the midweek Top 5 are post-punk veterans Echo & The Bunnymen with Apples For Isaac at Number 5. The release marks their first new material since 2014 and puts the band on track for their first Top 10 entry in 29 years.
Further down the chart, Miley holds Number 6 with Bass Persuades, while Liverpudlian indie outfit The Cheap Thrills lead a wave of new entries at Number 13 with their debut album Keep Cheap. Thrash metal band Anthrax sit at Number 15 with Cursum Perficio, followed by Tove Lo’s ESTRUS at Number 19 and Irish folk group The Mary Wallopers at Number 20 with Paddywhackery.
Reissues also make a strong showing, with expanded editions of Simple Minds' Once Upon A Time and Phil Collins' Face Value tracking toward Top 40 returns. The final chart standings will be confirmed on Friday by the Official Charts Company.
