The Molotovs have announced their second studio album, Welcome To Urbia, scheduled for release on 9th April 2027 via Marshall Records. The news arrives just six months after sibling duo Matt and Issey Cartlidge achieved a Number 3 position on the UK album charts with their debut release, Wasted On Youth.
Ahead of the full album, the band will release the title track single, Urbia, on 4th September 2026, alongside limited-edition pre-order CDs and cassettes. Recorded at the historic Konk Studios in North London, the track was produced by Tony Hoffer, known for his work with Beck, The Kooks, and M83.
Frontman Matt Cartlidge described the lead single as a fresh direction for the band, driven by expanding musical influences developed during their extensive touring schedule. Sister and co-vocalist Issey Cartlidge highlighted the contrast within the track, noting its driving, industrial verses that transition into a sweet, open chorus. The song’s thematic direction reflects the band’s experiences touring across towns throughout the UK.
The announcement coincides with the start of The Molotovs' headline UK tour, which shares its name with the upcoming record. Demand for the shows has seen the majority of dates sell out completely, with only limited tickets remaining for performances in Glasgow, Leeds, and a second night at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. Later this year, the duo will also join Razorlight as special guests on their UK arena tour, including a performance at London's OVO Arena Wembley on 4th December.
The Cartlidge siblings have experienced a rapid rise over the past year, transitioning from street busking to major chart success. After playing nearly 700 live shows over five years, the duo earned widespread attention following television appearances, high-profile support slots with Yungblud, and a competitive chart run alongside established mainstream artists.
