Sam Fender and Olivia Dean have officially claimed the title of the UK’s Song of the Summer 2026 with their hit collaboration Rein Me In.
During the three-month summer period, the track accumulated 69 million combined UK streams, earning 621,000 of its 2.3 million total chart units between June and August. The single previously made chart history by spending 19 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1, making it the longest-running top-charting single in UK history and breaking a 73-year record previously held by Frankie Laine’s I Believe.

Olivia Dean enjoyed exceptional representation across the seasonal charts. Her former Number 1 track Man I Need secured the Number 2 spot with 65 million streams, making her the first artist since 2024 to hold the top two positions on the summer chart. Dean placed a total of four tracks in the seasonal Top 40, including So Easy (To Fall In Love) at Number 21 and Nice To Each Other at Number 29.
Female artists dominated the top tier of the summer rankings, claiming eight of the Top 10 positions. Olivia Rodrigo took third place with the cure, followed by Ariana Grande’s hate that i made you love me at Number 4. Last year's winner, Alex Warren’s Ordinary, retained a spot in the top five, pulling in an additional 45 million streams a year after its initial release.
Country music made a strong impact as Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas reached Number 6, while classic catalog tracks experienced significant surges. Michael Jackson’s 1982 classic Billie Jean placed at Number 7 following renewed interest in his discography, racking up 45 million streams. Shakira and Burna Boy’s World Cup anthem Dai Dai took Number 9, with Taylor Swift rounding out the Top 10 via I Knew It, I Knew You.
