According to the Official Chart First Look, which offers an early glance at the Top 20 based on preliminary sales and streaming data, the evergreen anthem is currently leading the race for the top spot. Having surged to Number 12 on last Friday’s chart after a 350% week-on-week increase, the track is now poised to secure a long-overdue chart-topping milestone for the late icon.
Parton's classic catalogue is dominating the upper reaches of the update. Her 1976 signature hit "Jolene" currently holds the Number 2 position, while her famous 1983 duet with Kenny Rogers, "Islands In the Stream," has climbed to Number 6. If these positions hold through to Friday's final standings, it will mark a historic collective tribute to the artist's enduring legacy across generations.
Elsewhere in the mid-week update, HUGEL, Imael Angel, and Ultra Naté sit at Number 3 with "Movin' To The Sun," followed by Stella Lefty's "Boston" at Number 4 and Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" at Number 5. Previous long-running chart-topper "Rein Me In" by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean slips to Number 8.
The preliminary standings also highlight several potential new entries and re-entries. Following the release of his second studio album WILDCHILD, Alex Warren is eyeing two new Top 40 entries, with "CRY WOLF" tracking at Number 21 and "EMERALD EYES" at Number 23.
Dua Lipa is set to re-enter the chart at Number 36 with "Training Season" following the release of her Training Season’s Over live EP, while Olivia Rodrigo's political track "serena joy" is tracking for a debut at Number 39. Additionally, Audrey Hobert's single "Sue Me" is aiming for its first Top 20 placement, currently forecast to rise to Number 20, as Noah Kahan's "Orbiter" targets a fresh peak at Number 30.
