J. Cole has cancelled a concert following the death of one of his touring crew members.
On Thursday afternoon, a representative for the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California announced that a truck driver had been killed in an accident and The Fall-Off World Tour show would no longer go ahead.
"Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole's performance at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento tonight, August 27, has been canceled," they commented. "Our thoughts are with the crew member's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
Ticketholders will receive refunds from the point of purchase.
It remains unclear whether the show will be rescheduled.
Earlier, editors at The Sacramento Bee reported that the crew member had been driving a semi-truck that "veered off" the highway and overturned. The man died at the scene.
Local authorities are investigating the crash.
J. Cole, real name Jermaine Cole, is next set to perform in Oakland, California on Saturday. He has not yet personally commented on the tragic news.
The 41-year-old has 15 more North American dates lined up for the Fall-Off World Tour before heading to Europe, Oceania, and South Africa later in the year.
J.Cole released his seventh studio album, The Fall-Off, last February.
