John Summit announced on Monday 17 August that he's cancelling his remaining August shows.

The decision takes the producer off the lineups for four major European festivals: Belgium's Pukkelpop, Malta's UNO Malta, the UK's Creamfields, and France's Touquet Music Beach Festival.

In a message posted to Instagram Stories, Summit, whose real name is John Walter Schuster, penned, "After much thought, I have decided to take the rest of August off touring to rest and get ready for my upcoming arena tour. I rarely ever do this, but there is so much work to do for the tour, and I need to recharge my battery a bit before this fall. Thanks for understanding."

The American electronic music DJ and record producer, who is known for chart-topping tracks including Deep End and Where You Are, has had a full schedule this summer, headlining Lollapalooza in July, playing his Ibiza residency and performing a long list of festivals including Ultra Europe, Tomorrowland, Canada's Cowboy's Music Festival and more.

The arena tour referenced in Summit's statement is in support of his April album Ctrl Escape, and is set to be his biggest outing to date, with the 21-date North American tour beginning on 1 October.
