Global pop sensations KATSEYE are closing in on their first ever UK Top 10 single with "Animal", according to the latest Official Singles Chart First Look.
Following the release of their new EP WILD on Friday, August 14, 2026, "Animal" has surged up the midweek standings to Number 9. The track previously reached a peak of Number 16 earlier this month, but the release of the new EP has provided a fresh boost, putting the girl group on course to secure a milestone breakthrough in the UK chart rankings.
The group's chart momentum extends further across the early midweeks, with another track from the WILD EP, "Hootie Frutti", currently tracking to land as this week’s highest new entry at Number 12.
Elsewhere in the midweeks, several other tracks are competing for new peak positions inside the Top 20. HUGEL’s "Movin’ To The Sun", featuring Imael Angel and Ultra Nate, moves up to Number 3, while Silva Bumpa’s "On 2nite" climbs to Number 6. Tame Impala’s "Loser" is also eyeing a fresh high, currently sitting at Number 13.
Further down the preliminary chart, Californian singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers could earn her debut UK Top 40 hit with "Lost Weekend", the title track from her third studio album, which starts the chart week at Number 24. Meanwhile, British DJ Josh Baker is making a fresh push for a maiden Top 40 entry following his open-air performance in London, as his track "My Place" featuring Poppy Baskomb enters at Number 26.
At the very top of the standings, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean continue to hold the Number 1 spot with "Rein Me In", followed by Shakira and Burna Boy's collaboration "Dai Dai" at Number 2.
The Official Chart First Look provides an early preview of the UK Singles Chart based on preliminary sales and early streaming data. The final placements will be confirmed when the Official Singles Chart Top 100 is revealed on Friday.
