The Reytons have returned to the top of the Official Albums Chart, securing their second UK Number 1 album with A Love Letter To A Broken Town. The Rotherham indie band’s fifth studio album joins their 2023 release What’s Rock and Roll? at the summit, while also taking the top spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart after shifting the most copies on physical format over the past seven days.
Frontman Jonny Yerrell expressed his gratitude regarding the achievement, noting that the overwhelming support from their community made the victory special. He highlighted that the release achieved the top spot without a single play on mainstream radio, attributing the success to staying true to their roots. The chart triumph comes at an ideal time for the group, who are set to launch the UK leg of their extensive world tour this October.
Further down the chart, British R&B trio FLO secured their second Top 5 album as THERAPY AT THE CLUB entered at Number 5. Following the success of their 2024 debut Access All Areas, the release marks the group's biggest opening week to date. FLO also made history as the first British R&B girl group to debut inside the Top 5 with their first two albums, while additionally topping the Official Record Store Chart.
American singer-songwriter ROLE MODEL achieved his first UK chart appearance, entering straight into the Top 10 at Number 6 with his third studio LP, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass. Electronic duo Overmono scored their second Top 20 album with Pure Devotion at Number 12, which also claimed the top spot on the Official Dance Albums Chart.
Elsewhere in the Top 40, Kylie Minogue’s 2007 album X re-entered at Number 26 following its first-ever vinyl release, coinciding with news of her high-charting collaboration with Madonna, Love Sensation. Finally, two new acts secured debut entries, with British six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw entering at Number 33 with Cannonball, and Liverpool band Keyside reaching Number 38 with their self-titled debut.
