A host of Colombian stars are calling for support amid the devastating earthquake on Monday morning local time.
Some of the country's biggest stars, including J Balvin, Maluma, Shakira and more are using their platforms to call attention to the aid and recovery efforts.
Colombia was hit by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake with the epicentre reportedly close to San José del Palmar in the Chocó department.
The effects of the natural disaster were far-reaching, with reports of collapsed buildings, injuries and deaths in the cities of Cali, Armenia, Manizales, Pereira and Quibdó. The reported death toll is more than 100.
Shakira shared a message about the situation in a post in Spanish on X.
"Beloved Colombia, my heart is with everyone who felt this earthquake today and with the families who are going through moments of anguish. In times like these, we Colombians know how to come together and support one another. All my strength and love for my homeland. Let's embrace tightly and stay tuned to the instructions so we can help as soon as possible."
On his Instagram stories, J Balvin wrote in his native Spanish, "Much strength with the situation of the earthquake in Colombia. Strength to all the people and families affected. We're going to move quickly to help with the situation."
Maluma also shared a message of strength, writing, "It is heartbreaking, everything that is happening in Colombia. A hug from the heart to all the victims' families, and we're here to help."
Balvin, Maluma, Karol G, Ryan Castro, Manuel Turizo and other artists have shared a link to donate to an organisation called Colombia Se Levanta, which is providing support to families affected by the quake.
