Charli XCX has "begrudgingly" released Music, Fashion, Film (B-Sides Edition) on one streaming service.
Last Friday, the British singer-songwriter unveiled her eighth studio album, which includes the lead single, Rock Music, and four accompanying music videos.
And on Sunday, Charli "caved" and dropped an extended version of the project via iTunes with three additional tracks.
The songs are titled I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night, Playboy Bunny, and If You Take Away the Music Then What Has She Got?
Reflecting on the decision in a message posted to her secondary @b.sides account, Charli explained why she originally only wanted to share the b-sides with fans on social media and in the Music, Fashion, Film physical box set.
"I made b sides for each of the songs released ahead of Music, Fashion, Film because it felt natural to pair each songs with a fitting counterpart - something that's adjacent to the album but not entirely part of it," she wrote. "Traditionally, b sides often become fan favorites... and i guess in the case of some of the b sides for this album, that has proven to be true (sic)."
Charli didn't disclose whether she will eventually make the b-sides available on more streaming platforms.
"I felt adamant i wouldn't put them on streaming because it sort of felt counter intuitive to the whole ethos of those songs, but i know you all really wanted them so i've begrudgingly put them on itunes lol. you can call me a hypocrite, i don't mind ;) love you all and i hope you enjoy these special songs in ur ears (sic)," the 33-year-old asserted.
Charli is currently preparing for the Music, Fashion, Film Tour of North America. The Apple hitmaker will kick off the 12-stop trek in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 11 September.
