Shakira and Burna Boy are locked in a high-stakes chart battle with Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, as single "Dai Dai" threatens to halt "Rein Me In" from becoming the longest-running Number 1 in UK Official Singles Chart history.
According to the latest Official Chart: First Look, "Dai Dai" currently holds pole position. The 2026 World Cup anthem has steadily built momentum over recent weeks and now sits in line to secure the top spot for the first time. However, the margins remain slim, with just 600 chart units separating the two releases in preliminary sales and streaming reports.
The battle comes as "Rein Me In" targets an historic 19th week at the summit. Last week, the collaboration between Sam Fender and Olivia Dean equalled the long-standing record set by Frankie Laine’s "I Believe" for the most weeks at Number 1. A further week at the top would see "Rein Me In" claim the all-time record outright.
Beyond the fight for the top spot, several other tracks are making moves across the Top 40 listings. Ella Langley’s "Choosin’ Texas" is currently on course to reach a new peak at Number 3, while HUGEL’s "Movin’ To The Sun" eyes its first appearance inside the Top 5 at Number 5.
Global pop group KATSEYE are positioned to secure the week’s highest new entry with "Animal" at Number 13, which would mark the six-piece ensemble's highest-charting single to date. Elsewhere, Charli xcx’s "Camera"—the final single from her album Music, Fashion, Film—is tracking toward a debut at Number 18.
Further down the standings, Morgan Wallen’s "Been By Now" enters the early rankings at Number 27, while Sienna Spiro’s "Material Lover" (12) and Stella Lefty’s "Boston" (14) both look toward potential new peaks. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars sees a surge following his Wembley Stadium residency, with "Die With A Smile" featuring Lady Gaga climbing to Number 23 and "I Just Might" holding at Number 39.
The final standings will be revealed on Friday on BBC Radio 1.
