The Strokes have released their much-anticipated new album, Reality Awaits, marking their first full-length record in six years via Cult Records/RCA Records. The LP features fan-favorite singles "Going Shopping" and "Falling out of Love," both of which have generated substantial momentum ahead of today's release.
Recorded in Costa Rica with legendary producer Rick Rubin—who previously collaborated with the band on their acclaimed 2020 record The New Abnormal—the album sessions spanned multiple global locations as the group worked wherever inspiration struck. Director Johann Rashid joined the band in Costa Rica to document the process, creating a short film titled In Transit: Part II. Functioning as a direct sequel to the group’s 2004 In Transit documentary, the film offers fans an intimate glimpse into the creative journey behind the new record.
Visuals for the release have already drawn significant attention, including the music video for "Going Shopping." Filmed on location in Tenerife, the clip pays homage to Paul Simon’s iconic "You Can Call Me Al" video and features actor Walton Goggins alongside frontman Julian Casablancas. Additionally, the band debuted "Falling out of Love" with a live performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The album launch lands in the midst of a massive global tour schedule taking place throughout the remainder of 2026. The run includes a major headline show at Queens' Flushing Meadows Corona Park—marking their first New York headline appearance in years—with direct support from Beach House, TV on the Radio, and Fcukers.
International dates will see the iconic New York rock band perform sold-out arena shows across Europe and the UK, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena in October, alongside stops at Paris’ Accor Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Manchester's Co-op Live, and Dublin's 3Arena. The band will follow their European dates with an extensive South American run across November and December, featuring appearances at festival mainstages and headline stadium dates.
