Sam Fender and Olivia Dean are officially rewriting the music history books as their collaborative hit "Rein Me In" secures a monumental 17th non-consecutive week at the summit of the Official Singles Chart. By holding onto the top spot today, the track has officially overtaken Bryan Adams’ legendary 1991 classic, "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," which famously notched up 16 consecutive weeks at the number one spot. The British duo is now just one single week away from matching Frankie Laine’s historic 1953 record holder, "I Believe," for the most weeks at the summit in UK chart history.

While the duo dominates the top spot, football fever continues to sweep through the rest of the Top 40 standings. Despite England’s heartbreaking World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina, a massive wave of tournament anthems has roared up the singles chart. Leading the immediate charge is Oasis, whose classic track "Wonderwall" has been newly embraced as an unofficial anthem for the national squad. The Britpop behemoth climbed nine places to land at number two, matching its original all-time peak position from 31 years ago.

Close behind, Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds’ iconic patriotic melody "Three Lions (Football’s Coming Home)" soared 18 places to return to the Top 10 at number three. Meanwhile, Dutch dance duo ANOTR clinched a personal best with "Talk To You" featuring 54 Ultra, jumping 10 places to number four after a viral clip of England defender John Stones dancing to the summer track exploded across social media.

The official FIFA World Cup 2026 single "Dai Dai" by Shakira and Burna Boy also shifted the goalposts, breaking into the Top 5 for the first time at number five. Shakira’s timeless 2010 anthem "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" simultaneously shot up to land at number 26, its highest placement in over a decade. Elsewhere in the standings, dance producers Prospa and Cloonee reached a new peak at number seven with "Free Your Mind," while pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo earned her 17th Top 40 hit as her brand-new single "Honeybee" debuted at number 30.
