Jay-Z made history over the weekend by wrapping up a monumental three-night run at Yankee Stadium, becoming the first artist ever to sell out three consecutive nights at the iconic venue. Each evening of the historic stand featured a completely unique setlist, distinct production designs, and an extraordinary rotating lineup of legendary special guests. The spectacular weekend culminated on Sunday night with a grand finale dubbed "Jay-Z Extra Innings."
The final night kept the crowd in a state of constant disbelief as a revolving door of music royalty joined the stage. Teyana Taylor kicked off the guest appearances with a soulful rendition of "Can’t Knock The Hustle," followed by Jermaine Dupri for the classic "Money Ain’t A Thing." Street anthems ruled next as Jeezy took the stage for "Seen It All" and "Go Crazy." R&B superstar USHER then teamed up with the headliner for "Heart of the City" and "Throwback."
In one of the night's biggest surprises, Rihanna shocked the stadium with high-energy performances of "Run This Town" and "Bitch Better Have My Money." Swizz Beatz maintained the momentum, assisting on a string of hits including "On to the Next One," before Pharrell Williams delivered a hit-filled set alongside Pusha T. In a stunning late-show appearance, Beyoncé joined her husband for a powerful duet of "Drunk in Love." New York rap icons Fat Joe and Jadakiss then helped close out the historic residency with a triumphant performance of "New York."
The crowd watching from the VIP risers was equally star-studded, with the likes of Travis Scott, Tyler Perry, Kelly Rowland, and Carmelo Anthony celebrating the milestone. Over the course of the three days, fans were treated to three entirely different concerts. The first night, "Jay-Z 25," welcomed Eminem and Slick Rick, while the second night, "Jay-Z 30," featured Nas, Alicia Keys, and Blue Ivy Carter. The legendary run stands as a testament to the artist's enduring global influence.
