Madonna is on track to secure this week's highest new entry on the UK Official Singles Chart with her latest single, "Danceteria." Following the highly anticipated release of her new studio album, CONFESSIONS II, early sales and streaming reports indicate the track is positioned to debut at number 20. If its chart momentum holds until Friday's final standings, "Danceteria" will officially earn the pop icon her landmark 74th Top 40 hit. The chart update also suggests a potential secondary success for the singer's collaborative network, as Sabrina Carpenter's "Bring Your Love" is currently poised to re-enter the standings at number 36.

Meanwhile, a major historic milestone is brewing at the very top of the standings. Sam Fender and Olivia Dean's powerhouse collaborative duet, "Rein Me In," looks set to secure the number one spot for a 16th week. Having matched Wet Wet Wet’s legendary 1994 anthem "Love Is All Around" last week at 15 weeks, another week at the summit will crown it as the British track with the most weeks at number one in UK chart history. The duo now sets their sights on the all-time longevity record held by American singer Frankie Laine, whose single "I Believe" logged 18 weeks at the top in 1953.

Fender and Dean face stiff competition from Harry Styles, whose single "American Girls" has jumped to number two. The track has experienced a massive streaming surge following Styles' emotional final performance at Wembley Stadium, where he broke the record for the most nights played at the iconic venue.

Elsewhere in the Top 20 midweeks, Ella Langley’s "Choosin’ Texas" holds strong at number six, while Prospa and Cloonee's electronic anthem "Free Your Mind" sits at number nine. Rising British star Sienna Spiro is also enjoying a highly successful chart week following the release of her debut album, Visitor. Her track "Material Lover" is climbing toward number 13, while her new song "Great Expectation" looks set to claim a debut at number 33.
