Anastacia has opened up about her life, career, and health battles in a remarkably intimate and funny conversation on the hit podcast How to Fail with Elizabeth Day. Reflecting on her terrifying breast cancer diagnosis, the pop icon recalled her immediate anger after the media leaked her medical news before she could inform loved ones. "Now they've taken away the ability of me being able to say my truth," she explained. "Oh, I'm going to be loud. I'm going to tell people. Cancer gave the wrong girl cancer."

The singer revealed she actually discovered the illness by accident. "When I found out I had cancer it was not in the typical way. I went in for a breast reduction, then I found out," she shared. Despite the shock, she fiercely processed the diagnosis using her signature humor. "I can always deliver anger with humour. I call my titties, ‘toxic titties’, you know? They're my ta-tas. It's a good way to try and make something negative positive."

Beyond her health battles, the star shared hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from her early career singing at high-profile events. Recalling a chance encounter with filmmaker Steven Spielberg years after performing at his wedding, she laughed, "Steven goes, 'You know, I think the most ironic part is that we're still married.'" She also reminisced about performing for Arnold Schwarzenegger at his birthday party, where he repeatedly requested the song "What a Man." Anastacia noted, "He was just so sweet with it. He wasn't like, 'It's all about me.' He was like a little kid in a candy store when it would come on."

The chart-topper also shed light on her iconic look, explaining she originally chose her distinct eyewear style to deflect unwanted male attention. "I decided to put a tint in my glasses primarily because when I wore glasses and they were uniquely shaped, they didn't have a tint, and guys, more than I want to care for would always call me a sexy librarian," she revealed.
