Luton-born singer-songwriter Myles Smith has achieved a major milestone, clinching the biggest opening week for a debut album in 2026 so far with his first full-length project, My Mess, My Heart, My Life. Entering the Official Albums Chart at number two, the record marks Smith’s first-ever Top 10 entry, easily surpassing the success of his 2024 EP, A Minute, A Moment..., which previously peaked at number 32.

The widespread success of the release also extended across physical formats. My Mess, My Heart, My Life. simultaneously topped both the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and the Official Record Store Chart, capping off an incredible launch week for the rising British artist and his team.

Meanwhile, global pop icon Olivia Rodrigo successfully maintained her dominant position at the summit of the chart. Her acclaimed third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, secured a second consecutive week at number one. The achievement follows last Friday's announcement that the record had secured Rodrigo the biggest opening week of her career to date.

Further down the charts, alternative London rock duo Placebo bagged their 11th Top 40 album with Placebo RE:CREATED, which entered the standings at number 14. Additionally, blues-rock outfit When Rivers Meet celebrated a hat-trick of Top 40 LPs as their latest release, Rhythm Rust & Static, landed at number 20. The record follows the band's previous successes with 2023’s Aces Are High and 2025’s Addicted To You.

As a severe summer heatwave impacts the UK, several festival favorites are also reaping the rewards of seasonal streaming spikes. Calvin Harris’s 2024 compilation 96 Months climbed 14 places to number 27 as the producer takes his live show to major music festivals. Similarly, Pitbull’s Greatest Hits enjoyed a seven-spot rise to number 26, fueled by heavy anticipation for his upcoming headline performance at BST Hyde Park in London.
