Sony Music Vision, in association with Sony Music Entertainment UK, has officially unveiled the theatrical trailer for WHAM! 10 Days In China. The highly anticipated documentary film, which traces the cultural legacy of the band's landmark 1985 tour, is scheduled for a special global cinema release on July 28, 2026, handled by premium event cinema distributors Trafalgar Releasing.

The film chronicles the historic journey of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley as they became the very first Western pop group to perform in China. Spotlighting their groundbreaking concerts in Beijing and Guangzhou, the documentary explores how WHAM! successfully introduced live pop music to audiences under highly restrictive political guidelines. The tour marked a massive cultural watershed moment, drastically expanding the group's international profile and cementing their global pop reach.

Directed by Mike Christie and produced by Supercollider, the film relies on meticulously restored, newly digitized, and never-before-seen archive footage. It features intimate firsthand interviews with the band, their core management team, and Chinese audience members who were encountering Western pop culture for the first time. The narrative delivers a fresh perspective on a transforming nation, capturing a singular historical intersection where pop met politics and two young British stars truly came of age on the world stage.

The feature-length project is executive produced by Krista Wegener and Ian Sharpe for Sony Music Vision, alongside Tanya Shaw for Supercollider. Following its worldwide big-screen theatrical run this July, the documentary will head to television networks in association with the BBC, where it is scheduled to broadcast across BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this summer.

The upcoming theatrical screening event aims to bring international music fans together to celebrate the band's enduring global pop influence. Tickets for the one-night-only worldwide cinema events are officially available to purchase now through the project's dedicated box office website.
