Known simply as Melanie, this internationally popular singer-songwriter has a reputation for innovation and setting the tone for other performers to follow.
During her thirty-year-plus career, she has been signed to recording contracts by the very top executives in the music industry and played at the original Woodstock festival in 1969, following this up with a performance at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. Her unique folk/rock/ballad style led her to success with such songs as
"Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)", "Beautiful People", "What Have They Done To My Song, Ma?", "Brand New Key" and numerous others.
Eighty million Melanie records have been sold during her career and Melanie continues to record and perform extensive tour schedules world-wide.
Melanie's compositions have been recorded by Cher, Dolly Parton, Deana Carter, Meredith Brooks and Macy Gray among others, and her music continues to be featured in both screen and television scores.

Win the Montreau (Switzerland) jazz singer of the year award.
She was the first Folk/Rock solo artist to perform at: London's Royal Albert Hall, was the first artist to perform in front of the United Nations General Assembly and was the first female Folk/Rock artist to have three records simultaneously in Billboard's Charts.
In 1999, Melanie's song "Beautiful People " won the Song Of The Year award in Holland. .
