Four-time Scotland’s Live Act of the Year winners Skerryvore have officially released their brand new Scotland World Cup anthem, "Never Stopped Dreaming." The anthemic Celtic folk-rock track celebrates the nation’s long-awaited return to the football tournament after a 28-year absence, capturing the pride, camaraderie, and unwavering belief of the Tartan Army. Rich with traditional Scottish instrumentation, driving energy, and rousing choruses, the song is crafted specifically for stadium singalongs and festival crowds.
To celebrate the release and the historic qualification milestone, Skerryvore will host a massive World Cup warm-up party at the iconic Glasgow Barrowland tomorrow night. Both the live performance and the single will proudly support Street Soccer Scotland, a charity and social enterprise that utilizes football-themed programming to foster positive, lasting changes for socially disadvantaged people. One pound from every concert ticket sold will go directly toward funding the organization's initiatives across Scotland and London.
Following the homecoming celebration in Glasgow, the band will cross the Atlantic to host two unique celebratory showcase events in the United States, welcoming international football fans ahead of Scotland’s opening tournament match against Haiti. The first celebratory concert will take place at Conway Hall in New York City on June 11th, featuring special guest appearances by Sandi Thom, Ally The Piper, and the Tartan Specials. The band will then head to the Royale in Boston on June 12th, performing alongside a star-studded lineup that includes Susan Boyle, Nathan Evans & The Saint PHNX Band, and Johnny Mac And The Faithful.
Entering their twentieth year as a band, Skerryvore has built a dedicated global following. Their 2023 studio album, Tempus, secured strong BBC Radio 2 airplay and marked their debut in the UK Official Album Chart Top 40, while simultaneously hitting number one on both the Official Folk and Official Scottish Albums Charts. The band recently celebrated their two-decade milestone with a massive, sold-out 7,000-capacity anniversary event at Floors Castle. Following their World Cup festivities, Skerryvore is scheduled to appear at major summer music festivals including Belladrum and Beautiful Days, before embarking on a comprehensive North American headline tour this autumn.
