Raye won't write music for her third album until she falls in love.
The Where Is My Husband singer, who released her second album This Music May Contain Hope on Friday, has revealed that she's fed up with writing sad songs about dating, heartbreak and men doing her wrong.
For this reason, she intends to wait until she's loved up before she makes a follow-up album, which she is planning to title And Then She Fell In Love.
"My third album is going to be called And Then She Fell In Love, and I'm not going to write a single song of that album, not one single song is getting written, until I fall in love," she told fans in a TikTok livestream, which has been posted on social media.
"It's enough, 'I'm single,' 'This guy done me wrong,' 'This sucks about this and that,' songs. I'm tired of writing songs like that. The end. No," she declared.
"So my next album is going to be called And The She Fell In Love. I will fall in love, and then I'll write an album, and every song is going to be like, 'I love love, I'm in love, love forever, she's in love, it's a lovely day to be loved.' I will write that album when I fall in love."
This Music May Contain Hope includes songs about dating woes, such as Beware... The South London Lover Boy and The WhatsApp Shakespeare, and tracks about heartbreak like Nightingale Lane.
The 28-year-old, real name Rachel Keen, has received widespread acclaim for the new release and it has been hailed as an early contender for album of the year. It also stormed the Spotify charts, achieving almost 16 million streams within 24 hours.
This Music May Contain Hope is the follow-up to Raye's 2023 debut album My 21st Century Blues.
