The UK Official Singles Chart is bracing for a high-stakes showdown this Friday as rising star Bella Kay mounts a serious challenge against some of the industry's heaviest hitters. According to the latest Official Chart: First Look, which tracks preliminary sales and early streaming data, the race for Number 1 is narrowing to a photo finish.

A Battle at the Top

Currently, the collaborative powerhouse of Sam Fender and Olivia Dean is eyeing a return to the peak. Their hit "Rein Me In" is positioned to reclaim the top spot for a fourth non-consecutive week after being temporarily dethroned by Harry Styles’ "American Girls." However, they face a formidable opponent in Bella Kay. Her viral sensation "iloveitiloveitiloveit" has enjoyed a meteoric rise, having only cracked the Top 40 last month.

Sitting at Number 2 in the midweek update, Bella Kay is within striking distance of the crown. If she succeeds, she will become the youngest artist to secure a Number 1 single in 2026 so far—a remarkable feat for a track that seemingly appeared out of nowhere to dominate the airwaves. Meanwhile, last week's leader, Harry Styles, remains a strong contender at Number 3 following his recent high-profile hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Rising Stars and New Entries

Further down the Top 10, the "Ones To Watch" alumni Sienna Spiro is making waves with her latest release, "The Visitor." Currently tracking at Number 7, the bold new tune is on course to become Spiro’s highest-charting single to date and her second career Top 10 entry.

The mid-chart movement shows plenty of momentum elsewhere:

Stateside is looking to climb two places to Number 4.

Noah Kahan’s "Porch Light" is aiming for a solid Top 20 finish, currently sitting at 13.

Midnight Sun holds steady at 20, matching its previous personal best.

As the week progresses, keep an eye on Bebe Rexha and Faithless, whose collaborative anthem "New Religion" is beginning its ascent, currently eyeing a Top 40 debut at Number 35.

Can Bella Kay pull off the upset of the year? All will be revealed when the final Official Singles Chart is announced this Friday.
