Jennifer Hudson has revealed that she has been inspired by her son David and boyfriend Common as she prepares for her upcoming tour.
The Dreamgirls star is set to hit the road this summer and said she has drawn creative inspiration from her 16-year-old son and her rapper boyfriend.
During a new interview with People, Jennifer shared details about the tour and how her loved ones have influenced her music.
"My voice is a tree of many branches. I am a music lover, as well as a singer (and) artist, so it's going to display all of that, right? So yes, you may hear new material," she divulged. "My son is also a producer, and he's been recreating some of my songs, so I'm inspired by that."
The singer went on to explain that both David and Common help spark her creativity.
"And then of course, the man Common, being around them both, they are so musical," the 44-year-old said. "It's inspired me in so many unique ways. So that's bringing out my artistry."
Jennifer shares David with her ex-fiancé David Otunga Sr. The pair were together for 10 years, from 2007 to 2017.
The star has previously spoken about her son's musical talents, including sharing a clip of them working together in a recording studio on Instagram.
In the post shared in November, Jennifer wrote, "The best part of singing is singing with my son. He said mama let's record one of my fav songs together."
Jennifer will join Josh Groban for a 16-date North American tour this summer, featuring joint performances. The trek is set to kick off on 2 June 2026 in Montreal, Canada, and runs through to 3 July 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
