Serge Pizzorno has taken inspiration from Oasis, Radiohead and Fred Again.. gigs for Kasabian's upcoming summer shows.

The band's frontman, 45, is planning to "melt" ideas from the three shows together when the Club Foot hitmakers hit the stage later this year, because he thought all three concerts were "magnificent".

He told NME: "I went to see Oasis, then I went to see Radiohead, then last night I went to see Fred Again.., and all three shows for their own reasons were magnificent.

"So in my mind now I’m thinking for the summer, we’re heading for a combination of those three shows.

"Imagine those three melted into something new - and that’s where we’re headed."

Kasabian - who are also made up of Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, Tim Carter - and DJ Calvin Harirs recent released a collaborative single, Release The Pressure, but Serge has insisted the band's next album is very much "rooted in guitars".

He said: "That [collaboration with Harris] was definitely just an adventure and an exploration into some mad world, whereas Act III is rooted in guitars.

"It's very much a guitar album.

"I fell back in love with it. I’ve never really been out of love with it, but I found myself drawn to the guitar a lot more on that album."

Kasabian are to headline a huge show at London’s Finsbury Park on July 4 - which will feature support from the likes of Louis Dunford, Razorlight, The K’s, Miles Kane, and SOFY - and Serge insisted there is "no ceiling" to where the band can go.

Serge - who stepped up to lead vocal duties following the departure of original bandleader Tom Meighan in 2020 - added: "It’s mad when you stick around for so long, and you get to see, you get to see it happen again.

"It’s strange, we've got the originals but we've got a whole new fanbase coming that have only recently got into the band, so the energy is mad because you’ve got both the true heads, but then also this injection of chaos.

"It’s great when that happens. There’s no ceiling on where it can go next."
