Global superstar Niall Horan joined Fleur East, Will Best, and James Barr on Hits Radio Breakfast to discuss his new collaboration with Myles Smith, but he also dropped a massive update regarding his highly anticipated fourth solo album.

Speaking via Zoom from his studio, Niall confirmed that the follow-up to 2023’s The Show is nearly complete. "I'm in here finishing it right now. So I'm in the beat lab!" he told the presenters. Fans won't have to wait much longer for a first taste of the new era, as Niall teased: "I'm just finishing off some vocal bits and things like that, that I wasn't happy with, but yeah! I should have music some time this year. And I'm very excited about it!"

While the solo music is on the horizon, Niall is currently celebrating his new single, "Drive Safe." The "Nice To Meet Ya" singer revealed that joining Myles Smith was a significant responsibility. "It's tough when someone asks you to do this because, it's very close to his heart, something like very serious to him. And for me to then come and write the rest of it with him was obviously a tall ask," Niall explained.

Despite the pressure of contributing to such a personal track, the creative chemistry was immediate. "Then we just met up and we said we'd see what happened and we're in the studio together and it just, it clicked," Niall said. "It meant something to me, and it meant something completely different to him and that's the great thing about these kinds of things."

Although Fleur, Will, and James attempted to audition for a cameo in his next music video, Niall jokingly gave them a "firm no," keeping the focus entirely on the music coming from the "beat lab" later this year.
