Britney Spears has declared she's "lucky to be alive" after the way family members "treated" her in the past.
Returning to Instagram on Wednesday, the popstar posted a photo showing an adult holding a newborn baby's tiny hand.
In the accompanying caption, Britney reflected on the importance of feeling "connected to each other".
"For those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out... they were wrong," she began. "We can forgive as people but u don't ever forget (sic). Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!! I'm incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I'm scared of them."
Britney went on to note that "God works in mysterious ways".
"My friends, what do you think he is saying today ??? Because to be totally honest with you, no matter what he says, they will never take responsibility for what they did," the 44-year-old pondered.
Britney has been estranged from much of her family, including mum Lynne Spears and dad Jamie Spears, since the end of her 13-year conservatorship. The controversial arrangement lasted until November 2021.
However, the Gimme More star has indicated she was on better terms with her son Jayden James, 19, in a social media update shared over Christmas.
Britney also shares son Sean Preston, 20, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Elsewhere in her candid message, the Toxic hitmaker shared that she hasn't "danced in a month" because she "broke my toe twice".
