Ray J has offered an update on his treatment plan after claiming he only has months to live.

The R&B singer, real name William Ray Norwood Jr., shocked fans this week when he revealed he "almost died" when he was hospitalised with breathing issues and "heart pains" in Las Vegas earlier this month.

He told his Instagram followers that his heart "is only beating 25 per cent" and he doesn't expect to live beyond 2027.

Speaking to TMZ on Thursday, the 45-year-old revealed that doctors have advised him to stay in bed and take eight different prescribed medications to prolong his life.

The medicine include Jardiance and Entresto, which are used for patients with heart failure, and Lipitor, which is used to lower cholesterol, among others.

The One Wish hitmaker also shared that doctors have told him to prepare for the possibility of getting a pacemaker or defibrillator fitted, however, he won't know for certain until his next check-up in two weeks.

Ray admitted that he's finding it difficult to abstain from drinking and smoking, and that he's considering travelling to Haiti for treatment.

The Love & Hip Hop star also revealed that he's under a criminal protective order preventing him from seeing his daughter Melody, seven, and son Epik, six. He confessed that not being able to see them "took me down" and "made me realise I need to change my ways of living".

He was arrested in November 2025 over allegedly pulling a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love, amid an incident that was captured during a livestream.

Earlier this week, Ray told his Instagram followers, "My heart's only beating 25 per cent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right... My health is not OK, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me through everything I've been in the hospital."

In a separate video, he declared, "2027 is definitely a wrap for me. That's what they say."
