Nicki Minaj has claimed she is finalising her U.S. citizenship paperwork after receiving a "gold card" from President Donald Trump.

The Trinidadian rapper shared a photo on X on Wednesday showing her holding up the Trump Gold Card - which grants people residency in America in "record time".

"Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn't have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment Gold Trump card free of charge (sic)," she wrote, referring to her birthname, Onika Maraj.

According to a government website, the Trump Gold Card offers people citizenship if they are willing to pay a $15,000 (£10,000) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) processing fee and a contribution of $1 million (£722,000).

Trump is also setting up a Platinum Card option too.

"When launched, and upon receipt of a $15,000 DHS processing fee and $5 million (£3.6 million) contribution, they will have the ability to spend up to 270 days in the United States without being subject to U.S. taxes on non-U.S. income," the description reads.

Shortly after Nicki shared her post, a spokesperson for the Trump administration seemingly confirmed the news by re-tweeting the photo and adding, "Oh she's super BASED."

The Super Bass rapper has been a vocal supporter of Trump in recent months, and at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, she called herself "probably the President's number one fan, and that's not going to change".

"The hate - or what people have to say - it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it's going to motivate all of us to support him more," the 43-year-old declared.

"We're not going to let them get away with bullying him. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?"

At the event, Nicki pledged to give between $150,000 and $300,000 (£108,000 - £217,000) to fund her fans' investments, also known as Section 530A accounts.
