Veronica Fusaro would be "honoured" to duet with Celine Dion.

The 28-year-old singer is following in the Think Twice hitmaker's footsteps by representing Switzerland at Eurovision this year and she would love the chance to work with the "icon" - whose victory at the competition in 1988 launched her to global stardom - in the future.

Asked about the possibility of a duet, Veronica told BANG Showbiz: "Of course, I’d be honoured to! Céline Dion is an absolute icon!"

Veronica singled out British singer Sam Ryder- who came second representing the UK with Space Man in 2022 - as one of her favourite Eurovision entrants of recent years.

She said: "I really liked Sam Ryder’s performance. It felt joyful and generous, and you could tell he was genuinely having a good time on that stage."

The Swiss star's song hasn't yet been revealed, but she has promised audiences they will get a heartfelt and "honest" performance from her.

Asked what Eurovision fans can expect, she said: "You can expect an honest performance. I’m not going there to play a character or put on something that isn’t me. The focus is on the song, the feeling behind it, and the connection it creates in the room.

"If that comes across, then I’ve done my job."

Switzerland’s Eurovision entry was selected from 493 submitted songs through a multi-stage process involving both an international public vote and an expert jury, with the eventual result decided by a 50/50 split between audience and jury votes.

Veronica's song will be announced on 11 March, and the artistic direction of her performance is being worked on with the aid of creative director Fredrik 'Benke' Rydman.

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna. The semi-finals will be broadcast on 12 and 14 May 2026 before the final on 16 May 2026 on SRF 1. This year, artists from 35 countries will take part in the competition.
