SM: “Now Ella, we’ve been talking all about the brand-new album, Do You Still Love Me? out on February 6th. Have you learned anything about yourself in the making of this album?”

EM: “Oh my God, I learned so much! So, funnily enough, we went through different stages of, like, I thought the album was done. And then we came back to it, and we're like, ‘Okay, maybe it's done now.’ We came back, came again, and was like, ‘Okay, cool. It's done now.’ So, I think all those different stages I came in with a different perspective. It was really weird. And I think about the time when I was recording the album, and, I mean, I had a baby – I know everybody knows that, I'll break the ice! Like, I don’t know if anyone wanted to say it!”

SM: “Haha!”

EM: “You know, when I first started recording the album, I was pregnant, and then when I was finishing that album, I was postpartum. So, I think that my point of view, just as a woman and in life, and just my perspective completely changed. Yeah, it really was, like, my favourite album process that I've had today, to be honest. It was really small and intimate, because I wanted it that way. I wanted to, you know, keep my piece. It's me and Mustard, like, we went right back to the old days. We locked in. It felt like we were making EPs again. I worked with three of my favourite writers, and that was it. It was just us, and we kind of just all just did our thing. And I think I've never been more sure of what I want to say and what I want to sound like. So, it was weird, because there were so many times where I was like, ‘I think it's done.’”
