Nick Jonas has spoken candidly about feeling anxious as he promotes his new solo single, Gut Punch.

The Jonas Brothers star marked New Year's Day - and the release of the track - with an honest Instagram video reflecting on the past year and his emotions heading into 2026.

"2026 is here, guys. Wow, what a year 2025 was," he began in the video clip. "One of my favourite years of my life, to be honest."

The 33-year-old admitted that releasing the song on New Year's Day left him feeling emotional and introspective.

"Today I am feeling all of the start-of-the-year feelings: reflective, definitely a little anxiety but I'm just gonna kind of curb that for a minute and just say that I wanted to put Gut Punch out on this day specifically for all those feelings," he told the camera.

Opening up about the inspiration behind the track, Nick said he created the song for "those who might be feeling the same way".

"There's a lot of pressure to be the perfect version of yourself at the start of the year and that's just not possible and that's ok," he shared. "I'm going to go in the other room and hug my loved ones and just try to take a minute to just be grateful for the simple things. The quiet moments with people you love."

The Waffle House hitmaker, who shares his three-year-old daughter Malti with his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra, concluded the video by predicting that 2026 "will be a great year".

"You're not defined by your hurts or your mistakes. 2026, I believe, will be a great year for all of us," he stated. "Much love, thank you so much. Love you guys. Bye."

Nick quipped in the caption, "Feeling sentimental. Might delete later."
