Taylor Swift surprised an employee working at the Kansas City Chiefs game on Christmas Day with a generous tip of $600 (£444).

The pop star, who is engaged to Chiefs player Travis Kelce, stunned Arrowhead Stadium employee Robyn Gentry by thanking her for working on Christmas Day and placing six $100 (£74) bills in her hand.

Writing on the Taylor Swift's Vault Facebook group, Gentry shared pictures of the full tip as well as a framed $100 bill.

"She was running around telling everyone merry Christmas and came towards me, saying thank you so much for working on Christmas, please take this, Merry Christmas," she recalled. "My mind just froze. Of course I said Merry Christmas and thank you so much.

"Travis and her were smiling so big and just kept saying merry Christmas, thank you for working Christmas but then they were gone and I stopped to look at what was in my hand.... $600. My whole paycheck for two weeks."

Robyn confessed that she "immediately started crying" as she had just spent that much money on Christmas presents for eight children. She decided to frame one bill to remember the occasion and has yet to spend the rest.

"I wanted to share the story with people who will appreciate it with me," she concluded her post. "Taylor and Travis are beautifully kind people. Its very true, incredible and very kind people (sic)."

The music superstar is well-known for her generosity. In a recent episode of her Disney+ tour docuseries, The End of an Era, gifted everybody working on The Eras Tour - from dancers to truck drivers - huge bonuses that collectively totalled $197 million (£146 million).

The Christmas Day match between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos ended in a defeat for Travis and his team.

Many have speculated that the game might have been the final home match at Arrowhead for Travis, 36.

When asked about the retirement rumours during a post-game press conference, he said, "I'll let that be a decision I'll make with my family, friends, the Chiefs organisation when the time comes."
