CM: “Do you know what I love about you? It’s the fact that you love ‘The One And Only.’”
CH: “Yeah. I mean, you know, that's why I'm sitting here talking to you!”
CM: “Did you go through a phase of hating it?”
CH: “I’ve had my ups and downs with it over the years. There was a period of probably close to a decade after the kind of rise and fall where…”
CM: “There was no fall.”
CH: “No, never a fall.”
CM: “It was just a sleep.”
CH: “Yeah, I was having a little nap, wasn’t I? But I didn't even go out as me. I wanted to be in Radiohead, to be honest with you.”
[…]
CM: “Well, listen. You know how the Foo Fighters adopted Rick Astley? Why don't we ask Radiohead if they would adopt you?”
CH: “I'm sure you're mates with Mr. Yorke, aren't you?”
CM: “I've never met Mr. Yorke. Dom has got a Radiohead story which he'll tell in three seconds…”
DB: “The drummer from Radiohead once gave me a lift in his Mini Cooper.”
CH: “Good story.”
DB: “Phil Selway. Yeah. Morning, Phil! They’re lovely boys, so I’m sure they’d make it happen.”
CH: “And Phil, if you're listening, let's make that happen! I think Radiohead would do a fantastic version of ‘The One And Only.’ Can you imagine that?”
CM: “And do you know what? I think everyone would love it. I really do. Because the Foo Fighters and Rick Astley have already tried it and it works as treats. It really did work.”
CH: “It did work.”
CM: “So Radiohead and Chesney Hawkes together…”
CH: “Bring it on! I always wanted to be in Radiohead. I’ve said it for years! Throughout the ‘90s I literally shoegazed, turned it up to 11, and pretended I was in Radiohead.”
CM: “Really?”
CH: “Yeah. That’s all I wanted to do. I formed bands and we were just guitar bands, basically. Yeah, I was probably rebelling against the early years.”
