MN: “So why ‘Dead and Gone,’ please? What does that mean to you personally?”
LAP: “I feel like I was ready to show a different side to myself. I think ‘Dead and Gone’ is all about killing off this version that I guess no longer is serving me in this industry, the one that craves that validation. I feel like there's this side of me that is kind of being revived, the one that walks into a room, knows exactly who she is, doesn't take no for an answer, doesn't play by the rules. She's being revived to almost kill this other version off.”
MN: “Okay, I hear that.”
LAP: “Yeah. I think for me, it was about time, I think, that I showed a different side and this sort of fire energy. And I think that has been suppressed over the years a bit.”
MN: “Okay. Good.”
LAP: “And yeah, it's time that she comes to the forefront, almost acts as my protection. And yeah, this industry is a bit of a crazy place!”
