The Last Dinner Party secure this week’s highest new entry, as their second collection From The Pyre enters at Number 2. Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci’s debut Prelude To Ecstasy topped the Albums Chart in February 2024. From The Pyre also lands at Number 1 on this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, shifting the most copies on wax this week, and Official Record Store Chart, the most popular album in UK independent record shops over the past seven days.
Tame Impala’s fifth studio record Deadbeat lands at Number 4 this week. The project, fronted by Kevin Parker, previously enjoyed chart success with 2012’s Lonerism (14), 2015’s Currents (3) and 2020 LP The Slow Rush (3).
Congratulations go to Sam Ryder, who earns his second Official Albums Chart appearance with his second studio album Heartland (11). It comes ahead of Sam’s biggest-ever headline show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on November 6.
Pink Floyd legend David Gilmour banks a ninth solo Top 40 record with The Luck and Strange Concerts (12), as Miles Kane nets his sixth as a soloist with Sunlight In The Shadows (13).
All Is Love And Pain In The Mouse Parade secures Icelandic five-piece Of Monsters and Men a fourth Top 40 record (16), joining 2012’s My Head Is An Animal (3), 2015’s Beneath The Skin (10) and 2019’s Fever Dream (15).
Speaking to Official Charts, Of Monsters and Men’s Ragnar "Raggi" Þórhallsson says: “We have the cutest fans in the world. We're so appreciative and very taken aback, thank you!”
2025’s Mercury Prize winner Sam Fender secures the week’s highest climber with People Watching, vaulting 58 places (17) with sales and streams of his third studio record surging 144% week on week. Sam scooped the prestigious music prize at last week’s ceremony at Utilita Arena Newcastle, saying:
“We did not expect this at all. All of the other nominees tonight, there's some good friends amongst them - CMAT, Fontaines D.C. - we're in great company.
“I want to say thank you, because I never did, to the person that the song People Watching is about. I want to dedicate it to Annie Owen who is up there. This region is the best region in the country!”
